Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Joshua's Moving & Packing Service LLC ("Joshua's Moving", "we", "us") collects when you visit sancarlosmovingcompany.com, ask us for a moving estimate, chat with us, or call, text or email us, and what we do with it. If you have a question about it, contact us using the details at the end.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Estimate requests: your name, phone number, email address, move size, move date, the addresses or cities you are moving from and to, and any message you add.
• Commercial moving quotes: your name, company, role, phone number, email address, how you heard about us, and your message.
• Moving checklist: your name and email address, so we can send you the checklist.
• Website chat: whatever you type into the chat window, such as your name, phone number and questions.
• Calls, texts and emails: your phone number or email address and what you tell us.
• Text message consent: whether you agreed to receive text messages from us.
• Payments: if you pay through our "Pay Now" link, the payment is handled by Square on Square's own pages. We do not receive your full card number.

Information collected automatically

• Device and visit details: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
• How you found us: if you arrive from an ad or a tracked link, the ad click ID (such as a Google "gclid") and campaign tags (UTM tags) in the link.
• How you use the site: clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement, recorded by Microsoft Clarity so we can see where the site is confusing or broken.
• Address suggestions: when you type an address into an estimate form, the text you type is sent to Google Maps to suggest matching addresses.

How we use your information

• To reply to your request, prepare your estimate, and schedule and carry out your move.
• To send the appointment reminders, confirmations and service updates you agreed to receive.
• To keep records of the jobs we do, and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.
• To understand which ads, searches and pages bring in customers, and to show our ads to people who have visited this site.
• To fix problems with the site and make it easier to use.
• To prevent spam and fraud and to keep the site secure.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run the business, or when the law requires it:

• HighLevel (LeadConnector): the customer management system where form submissions, chats and text messages are stored and sent.
• Ramp Up Digital: our marketing agency, which runs this website, our ads and our customer management system, and can see the leads that come in.
• Google: Google Analytics (site statistics), Google Ads (ad measurement and remarketing), Google Maps (address suggestions), YouTube (the video on our home page) and Google Fonts. We may also tell Google Ads which ad clicks turned into booked jobs, using the ad click ID, so we can measure our ads.
• Microsoft: Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session recordings).
• Instantly (Leadsy): a website visitor identification tool. It runs only on our page for real estate agents (/for-business/realtors/), not on the pages homeowners and businesses use to request a move. On that page it collects details such as your IP address, browser information and the pages you view, and may match them with business or contact information it already holds to tell us which businesses and people visited the site.
• Hosting and security: Vercel hosts this website, and Cloudflare may run a security check on embedded forms.
• Square: if you pay online.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or a government request, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.
• Business transfer: if the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Some of the advertising, analytics and visitor identification tools above collect information directly from your browser when you visit. Under California law that can count as "sharing" (and in some cases "selling") personal information. See "Your California privacy rights" below to opt out.

Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files your browser stores for a website. This site uses:

• jm_attrib (ours): remembers how you first arrived (ad click ID, campaign tags, landing page and referrer) for 90 days, so that if you request an estimate later we know which ad or search sent you.
• Google Analytics (_ga and related cookies): counts visits and shows how the site is used.
• Google Ads (_gcl_au and Google advertising cookies): measures which ads lead to requests and lets us show ads to people who visited the site.
• Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk and Microsoft cookies): links the pages you view in one visit for heatmaps and session recordings.
• YouTube: may set cookies when the video player on our home page loads or plays.
• Instantly (Leadsy): visitor identification, described above.

We also use your browser's session storage to note that a form was just sent, so the thank-you page counts it only once.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also turn off personalized Google ads at My Ad Center and stop Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking cookies does not stop you from requesting an estimate.

Text messages (SMS)

When you opt in to receive text messages from Joshua's Moving and Packing Services, we collect your mobile phone number and your consent preference.

• What we send: your phone number is used solely to send non-marketing messages you consented to, including appointment reminders, order confirmations, and service updates related to your moving inquiry or booking.
• Sharing: no mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
• How you opt in: SMS consent is collected through our website forms, such as sancarlosmovingcompany.com/online-estimate. A single consent checkbox is provided for non-marketing messages (appointment reminders, order confirmations, and service updates). The checkbox is not pre-selected. Checking the consent box is optional and is not required to submit the form or receive services.
• How long we keep it: we keep your phone number and consent preference for as long as you remain opted in. If you reply STOP, we remove your number from our messaging lists promptly.
• Opting out: reply STOP to any message at any time. Message and data rates may apply.

Your California privacy rights

We are a California business. If you live in California, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and who we shared it with, and get a copy of it.
• Delete personal information we collected from you, unless we need to keep it, for example to finish a move or meet a legal obligation.
• Correct personal information that is wrong.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for ads targeted to you based on your visits to other websites.
• Equal treatment: we will not deny you service or charge you a different price for using these rights.

In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, phone number, email address, IP address, cookie IDs and ad click IDs); customer records (moving addresses and contact details); commercial information (the services you asked about, quotes and jobs); internet activity (pages viewed and how you used the site); approximate location (from your IP address); and professional information (company and role, for commercial quotes). We collect it from you, from your device, and from the service providers listed above, for the purposes described in this policy. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer anything about you.

To opt out of the sale or sharing of your information: email joshuasmovingcompany@gmail.com or call (650) 629-2465 and tell us "Do not sell or share my information." You can also block third-party cookies in your browser, turn off personalized Google ads at My Ad Center, and turn on Global Privacy Control if your browser supports it.

Global Privacy Control: this site honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your information for that browser. While the signal is on, the Google Ads tag and the Instantly (Leadsy) visitor identification tool do not load, Google Analytics runs with Google signals and ad personalization turned off, and the jm_attrib cookie is not set, so no ad click ID is stored or sent with your request. Our forms, chat, site statistics and Microsoft Clarity keep working. If you send us a request through a form while the signal is on, we note the opt-out on your customer record.

To make any other request, email or call us. We will ask for a few details, such as your name and the phone number or email address you used with us, so we can match the request to our records before acting on it. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you, with your signed permission. We will respond within 45 days.

How long we keep information

We keep estimate requests, customer records and messages for as long as we need them to respond to you, carry out your move, and meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations, and then delete them. The jm_attrib cookie expires after 90 days. Google, Microsoft and the other providers above keep the information they collect under their own policies.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, and the site is served over an encrypted connection. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as Google, Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Square. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
